A crash has closed a major road in Cumbria with emergency services rushing to the scene.
The incident took place on A595 Springfield Road in Bigrigg, close to the Moor Row junction, at around 8.05am this morning (February 9).
The crash involved a Mini and a Nissan Juke. Cumbria Police are at the scene and the vehicles have now been moved.

An ambulance also attended the scene. There is heavy traffic in the area as a result of the road closure.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: “Called in at around 8.05am. Collision between Mini and a Nissan Juke.
“Road was closed at Moor Row junction and people were asked to avoid area whilst recovery of vehicles ongoing. However, looks like recovery no longer necessary and vehicles moved
“Ambulance attended but update we’ve had is not believed to be any serious injuries at this time.”
Traffic monitoring website, INRIX, said: “A595 Springfield Road in both directions blocked, heavy traffic due to accident between Springfield Gardens and Bankend View.”
