Asda, Tesco, Ocado, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s recall meat and snacks – do not eat

Leading supermarkets are urgently recalling food products from the shelves after alerts were issued by the Food Standards Agency.

Popular goods including pork sausages, chicken boxes, Quorn slices, salad cream, pork scratchings and patatas bravas are affected.

They are among a list of items containing either ingredients not listed on the label or due to salmonella fears.

The FSA keeps a watchful eye over which supermarket items need to be withdrawn for the wellbeing of customers.

There are fears that some of the items may contain salmonella, a dangerous bacteria which causes food poisoning and an upset stomach, diarrhoea, fever and cramping in your belly.

Others could products could prove fatal to people with bad allergies or intolerances to dairy or gluten.

Anyone who has purchased the items below should return them to their nearest supermarket in exchange for a full refund. No receipt will be necessary.

Here are the latest products being urgently recalled:

Sausages

Edwards of Conwy is recalling 6 Traditional Pork Sausages because they contain wheat (gluten) which is not mentioned on the label.

The FSA said this means the product, sold through Ocado, is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

Some of the batches affected have now passed their durability date, however the product can be frozen.

The product details are:

SFC Wholesale Ltd is continuing to recall The Original SFC Bargain Box as it contains milk, which is not mentioned on the label.

The FSA said this means the product is a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

This product is only sold in Sainsbury’s stores.

The product details are:

Pack size: 700g

Best before: All dates up to and including 30th September 2022

Allergens: Milk

A spokesperson for Sainsbury’s said: “We are asking all customers who have an intolerance to Dairy not to consume it and to return it to their nearest Sainsbury’s store where they will receive a full refund.

“No other products have been affected by this issue.

This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The FSA said: If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund. No receipt is required. If you require further details please contact Customer services directly on 0800 505 555.”

Pork scratchings

Mr Porky is recalling several of its products over the possible presence of salmonella.

All products listed below with a best Before of February 19, 2022, or earlier are affected:

A spokesperson for Morrisons said: “If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them.

“Check if you have bought the affected Best Before date of the products shown above.

“You can do this by taking a picture of this notice or writing down the Best Before for reference at home.

“Return the products to the store where you bought it for a full refund.”

Quorn

Quorn - Vegetarian Turkey and Stuffing Slices

Quorn Foods is recalling Quorn Vegetarian Turkey and Stuffing Slices because it contains wheat (gluten).

It is sold through a variety of supermarket retailers, including Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose.

The product is incorrectly labelled with a gluten free logo. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

The product details are:

Quorn Vegetarian Turkey and Stuffing Slices

Pack size: 170g

Used by: All date codes

Allergens: wheat (gluten)

Patatas bravas

Lidl is recalling My Street Food Patatas Bravas with Aioli Dip because it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The product details are:

Pack size: 560ml

Best before: All dates

Allergens: Milk

A spokesperson for Lidl said: “If you have bought the above mentioned product, and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents we advise you not to eat it .

“Instead, return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without areceipt.

“No other My Street Food products in Lidl GB stores are affected by this recall.

“Lidl GB wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
