Barrow GP pleads not guilty to sexually assaulting patient

A Barrow GP has denied sexually assaulting a patient.

Prakesh Jain, 72, a former doctor at the Parklands surgery in Askham appeared at Preston Crown Court today (August 24). The former practice owner stands charged with a single count of sexual assault.

It is alleged that in August 2019, Dr Jain, of Parklands Drive, Askham, sexually touched the woman, not reasonably believing she consented to the touching. He pleaded not guilty to the allegation and a trial will take place at Preston Crown Court on July 3, 2023.
