A Barrow GP has denied sexually assaulting a patient.
It is alleged that in August 2019, Dr Jain, of Parklands Drive, Askham, sexually touched the woman, not reasonably believing she consented to the touching. He pleaded not guilty to the allegation and a trial will take place at Preston Crown Court on July 3, 2023.
Following his arrest in 2019 the clinical commissioning group informed patients at the practice Dr Jain would be unable to work. It is understood he has not returned to the practice and has since retired.
The alleged victim can not be named for legal reasons.
