Body found in search for missing teen seen entering River Eden

A body has been found in the search for a teenage boy who was last seen entering the River Eden.

Police can confirm that a body has been found following a multi-agency search operation at Rickerby Park, near Stony Holme.

Police received a report of a concern for the welfare of a teenage boy who had entered the water at around 9pm yesterday (July 17) by the North West Ambulance Service.

The body was found at around 11:45am today (July 18). Formal identification has not yet taken place.

The North West Ambulance Service, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, the Coastguard joined the huge search efforts and this afternoon divers were seen entering the water.
