Coniston bistro rated ‘best of the best’ is the place to go in the village

The small village of Coniston in the Lake District is most known for The Old Man of Coniston, rising dramatically behind the houses when seen from the village centre.

The Monk Coniston estate, owned by Beatrix Potter, and given on her death to the National Trust, stretches from Coniston to Skelwith Bridge. It includes the famous beauty spot – Tarn Hows.

The village is great for climbers and walkers.

“Food, service and atmosphere tip top as always. Beef ragu and seafood casserole were amazing after the delicious starters of salmon carpaccio and meatballs. Cheese course had to be taken home, we were so replete!
