Cumbria residents are set to decide on its new Police and Crime Commissioner in the May 6 local elections.
It is the only election taking place in the county on the date, with all borough council elections postponed due to a looming reorganisation of politics in the county.
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on May 6 to elect the new PCC, who will be responsible for securing efficient and effective policing in Cumbria.
To win, the successful candidate has to secure 50% of the vote. If no candidate gains 50% of the vote in the first round, second preferences are then counted from the candidate in last place.
This will continue until a majority is reached.
Here is everyone seeking your vote to become Cumbria’s new Police and Crime Commissioner.
The successful candidate will be in position for four years, earning £85,000 a year.
