Cumbria’s Covid state of play after Bank Holiday weekend

Cumbria has recorded 10 new cases of Covid in the last 24 hours, according to the new data from Public Health England.

This is an increase of the six cases recorded in the corresponding period previously.

The most new cases were found in Eden, where four were detected. No new cases were found in Allerdale or the South Lakeland areas.

39,585,655 people have now had the first vaccine dose. 26,073,284 have had the second dose.

4,330 people tested positive for Covid across the UK, 123 people were admitted to hospital and 12 people died across a 24 hour period.

The data below includes the total number of cases and overall infection rate for each area since the pandemic began. Many of these cases will no longer be active.

Allerdale: 5,070 (0) 5,186.1 per 100,000

Barrow-in-Furness: 4,301 (+2) 6,414.7 per 100,000

Carlisle: 8,239 (+1) 7,581.1 per 100,000

Copeland: 3,184 (+3) 4,669.8 per 100,000

Eden: 3,005 (+4) 5,642.9 per 100,000

South Lakeland: 4,545 (+0) 4,324.9 per 100,000
