Mountain Healthcare Ltd is hiring a Nurse Paramedic (Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional) working in Police Custody for the following locations:

  • Kendal
  • Barrow
  • Durranhill (Carlisle)
  • Workington

Custody is both a dynamic and lively environment, with no two days the same.

The description reads: “The police can detain individuals for up to 24 hours and within this time, we provide a high level of care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependency, to acute medical episodes.

“Our dedicated healthcare professionals are also fully trained to collect forensic samples which can assist the police with their investigations

“The 4-on-4-off rota pattern will give you the ability to plan your personal life months in advance. The shift pattern comprises of 2-day shifts, 2-night shifts then 4 days off.

Pensions Technical Officer

Cumbria Police currently have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Pension Technical Officer to join the Central Services Department.

The description reads: “We are looking to grow and strengthen our pensions team, enabling us to provide comprehensive pension support to Police Officers and Staff.

“This role will be key in the strategic delivery of a range of pensions issues and projects including Pensions Remedy. They will provide specialist advice to Senior Managers on specific pension matters to ensure that policy and discretionary arrangements are in place to provide a framework for the effective management and administration of the Constabulary’s pensions schemes.

“The post holder will also be responsible for communicating with members of each scheme, promoting scheme benefits, and providing pensions guidance to our many stakeholders. This will include running member events & meetings, representing the Constabulary at Regional and National Meetings as well as providing pension training to members of the Central Services Team.”

Witness Care Unit Admin Assistant

Cumbria Constabulary is hiring a Witness Care Unit Admin Assistant based at Kendal Police Station.

The role is to provide administrative and clerical support to the Witness Care Unit to assist with warning witnesses to attend court.

The description explains: “The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an administration environment and experience of accurate recording on systems including data input & retrieval.

“They will also hold a minimum of GCSE in Maths & English Level 4 or equivalent and be IT literate in particular Microsoft Office applications.”

Estates Administration Assistant

Based: Estates & Fleet Department, HQ

Cumbria Constabulary Estates Department is seeking an efficient and enthusiastic individual to provide administrative and financial support services to the Estates & Fleet Department. This role is on a temporary basis for three months.

Key responsibilities include ensuring that invoices are passed for payment in a timely manner, dealing with any related administration to assist in the smooth and efficient working of the department.

You will assist in maintaining electronic and paper-based records for all aspects of the department. You will be proficient at excel spreadsheets to ensure information is recorded correctly.

Training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Safety Camera Evidence Processor

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Central Ticket Office, based at the Penrith Headquarters, for a safety camera evidence processor. This is a permanent position, working 33 hours a week.

The description explains: “In this unique role, you will be responsible for determining whether sufficient evidence is available to undertake a successful Prosecution by viewing, recording, processing and interpreting data from Camera Enforcement equipment and taking necessary action in accordance with policy and procedures.

“You will also obtain details of registered keepers and initiate Notice Of Intended Prosecution to meet deadlines of regulations, and identify and process additional motoring offences from evidence received and forward for further enquiries.”

Case Progression Officer

Based: Barrow
Salary: £21,135 – £23,406 pro-rata

This is an opportunity to join the Criminal Justice Unit of Cumbria Constabulary as a Case progression Officer at Barrow in Furness.

The role of a CJU Case Progression Officer is to upgrade Prosecution Files for Magistrates and Crown Court to a standard acceptable for Trial.

To carry out enquiries on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service, CJU Manager, and operational officers as required.

All tasks are time-critical and must be managed to meet deadlines set by the Magistrates and Crown Court for the initial court hearing and all subsequent hearings and trials.

DHEP Police Officer Entry Route

A two-year Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice (PPPD).

This route is for anyone who already holds a degree in any subject area and would like to work as an operational police officer for Cumbria Constabulary whilst obtaining a diploma.

PCDA Police Officer Entry Route

Salary: £24,780

Full Time

The PCDA Programme is a three-year programme with academic modules, course work and exams.

The total academic credit value of this course is 360 credits.

The academic learning on this course is undertaken and coincides with serving as a student police officer, with active frontline duties for Cumbria Constabulary. The normal working hours of a police officer are 40 hours per week.

This route is for someone who would like to work in the role of an operational police officer, whilst studying, and who does not hold a degree-level qualification.
