Puppy Raising Information Event

10 June @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Free
Calling all dog lovers in Cumbria!
If you’re interested in puppy raising for Guide Dogs but would like to know more about it and what’s involved, come and join us as the Cockermouth Christian Centre on Tuesday 10 June.
You’ll have the opportunity to meet Guide Dogs staff and volunteers, along with their puppies, and will get to see a puppy training class in action.
Volunteer puppy raisers provide a puppy with the vital foundation for its future role as a guide dog. You’ll be looking after a puppy for 12-16 months and will guide him or her through training, socialisation, the introduction of new environments and experiences whilst providing a loving home.
Rachel Adams, Puppy Development Advisor for Guide Dogs, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming the public to our puppy class to find out more about what’s involved with raising a guide dog puppy.
“Please come along and meet our fantastic local team of staff and volunteers and find out first-hand why people enjoy volunteering for us.
“Of course, we’ll have plenty pups for you to meet too.”
The address is Cockermouth Christian Centre, Highfield Road, Cockermouth, CA13 9JF. Due to capacity of the event, please reserve your space by emailing: VolAttractNorth@guidedogs.org.uk
Please note: Pet dogs are not permitted at this event.
We hope to see you there!
