Two Day Stained Glass Workshop

6 June @ 10:00 am - 7 June @ 5:00 pm

£170

On this two-day course, you will learn the basic skills of stained glass – choosing from a template or creating your own suitable design. The panel will be made up of coloured glass, some painted and kiln-fired glass, and soldered lead. On the first day you will learn about the materials and techniques of traditional stained glass, and create a simple design. Learn to select and cut glass, and have the option to add painted detail to some pieces. The painted elements will be kiln-fired by the tutor overnight. On the second day you will assemble your glass pieces into a leaded panel, learning to shape and cut lead to size. Learn to solder the lead together and take your finished work away at the end of the day.

N.B. Traditional stained glass requires good mobility and strength in both hands and will involve some standing. There are materials which pose potential risk to health, including lead. Health and safety advice and protection will be provided on the course, but if you have any particular concerns (for example, if you are pregnant) please contact the tutor in advance.

*There is a £30 materials fee to be paid in cash to your tutor on the day*
