Gang jumps teen while passengers in car film sickening attack in Lake District town

A gang of youths jumped a teenager on a night out in a Lake District town – kicking and punching him in the head.

The victim – in his late teens – was rushed to hospital last night (Friday February 28) with serious injuries following the attack in Ulverston.

It is understood the gang were also teenagers of a similar age to their victim. Police said it is believed a car pulled up close to the incident – at about 11pm on Victoria Street – and that someone in the vehicle may have filmed the sickening attack.

Detectives are now appealing for information on the attack.

A police spokesman said: “Information has been received that a car stopped at the incident and the occupants of that car may have filmed the incident.

“Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online, quoting incident number 280 of 28 February 2025. You can also phone on 101. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
