A Lake District town was recently named the prettiest in the UK.
Keswick came out top in research carried out by Fbm Holidays who combed through data of more than 160 UK destinations.
It’s not surprising Keswick topped the list, after all the picturesque town is part of the Lake District National Park and is a Special Area of Conservation.
The market town also has 20 National Trust sites to its name and is flanked by the huge mountains of Skiddaw and the gentle beauty of Derwentwater.
It has become the major centre for tourism in the northern Lake District, and offers a wide range of attractions for visitors, from shops and restaurants to museums, and boating trips around lake Derwentwater.
Back in 1276 Edward I granted the town its market charter, and it continues to this day – Keswick Market brings many locals and visitors to the town every year.
Following on from the Fbm Holidays report we’ve decided to take a look at some of the prettiest places you can stay at in Keswick.
