Every Lancashire and Cumbria restaurant with a Michelin Star has retained them for 2022, while one has gained a third and another has won one for the first time.
L’Enclume in the Lake District has been awarded a rare third Star, while The Barn at Moor Hall in West Lancashire has been given a Star for the first time.
Below is a list of all Michelin-Starred restaurants in our two regions.
Also included are two Lancashire restaurants – So-Lo in Ormskirk and 263 in Preston – added to the Michelin Guide for the first time, which showcases places Michelin highly recommends you should visit.

L’Enclume has become the first venue outside of London and Bray, Reading in Michelin’s 49-year history to be awarded three stars.
Simon Rogan has built up quite the reputation for this riverside spot in Cumbria, which also has five AA Rosettes.
Expect every dish to be presented beautifully and with imagination, with guests offered the opportunity to pair wines with an impressive 14-course tasting menu.
In promoting L’Enclume, from two to the coveted and rare third Star, Michelin said their decision was due to “its sublime cooking, which never stops evolving.”

Stars: One
Cuisine: Modern British

The Barn finally has its own star and is the only new entry in Cumbria and Lancashire and is one of only 19 in the UK and Ireland.
Michelin said that Moor Hall’s “informal little sister” had been awarded a Star for “its imaginative, flavour-packed dishes which use seasonal produce from the grounds”.
Housed inside a rustic restored barn, The Barn’s menu focuses on seasonal dishes and the lunchtime sitting is especially popular, with meals cooked using mainly ingredients grown in the five-acre grounds of the picture-postcard estate.
It boasts views of Moor Hall and the lake also has a beautiful outdoor terrace area, which is heated and covered, offering an idyllic setting in the warmer months.
The more informal nature of The Barn makes it popular with families, while it also has a dedicated children’s menu.
