Man arrested in West Cumbria in connection with sexual assault

Cumbria Constabulary have confirmed that officers in West Cumbria have arrested a man sought in connection with indecent exposure incidents in the area.

Officers arrested an Egremont man yesterday (December 6) after he was seen on the cycle path towards Cleator Moor.

Darren Quinn, 35, of Main Street in Egremont was seen on the cycle path leading towards Cleator Moor at around 1.40pm, Cumbria Constabulary have said.

Officers then attended and arrested Quinn.

This morning (December 7), Quinn was charged with three counts of indecent exposure.

He was then transferred to Workington Magistrates’ Court without bail, where he was due to appear today.

Detective Inspector Hayley Wilkinson said: “Safe-guarding the community is a top priority. Such offences are taken extremely seriously, which is why we have acted swiftly on the information received and made this arrest.”
