Tributes have been paid to a ‘loving’ Wigton dad who died at the scene of a crash on A595 at Crofton.
The fatal collision took place at around 5.20pm on Monday (January 23). The crash involved a silver Honda Civic left the road and collided with a wall.
The driver of a car died at the scene. He has now been named as Stephen Pape, 44, from Wigton.

The devastated family of Mr Pape described him as a ‘very loving dad and much loved son and brother’, while requesting privacy at this time. Cumbria Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking anyone who saw what happened or the moments leading up to contact them.
A spokesperson said: “Officers would like to thank those people who have assisted with the investigation into the crash and are continuing to request that anyone who saw what happened or the moments leading up to it gets in touch.”
