Two arrested after Kendal Spar shop robbery

A man and a woman from Merseyside have been arrested after a robbery at a Spar store in Kendal.

Officers from Cumbria Police were called to the shop in Sandylands at 3.48pm on Thursday May 19. During the robbery a quantity of cash was taken from the store.

Police have now confirmed that a man and a woman, both in their early 40s and from Merseyside, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. Detectives continue to appeal for information about the incident.

In a statement Cumbria Police said: “Two people have been arrested as part of an investigation into a robbery at a Kendal store. A man and woman, both aged in their early 40s and from Merseyside, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. They remain in custody for questioning.

“The arrests follow an incident at the Spar in Sandylands Road on 19 May. Officers received a report of a robbery at the shop at 3.48pm, during which money was stolen.
