For the second time the speed camera on the A596 has been cut down.

Cumbria police have launched an investigation after thevandalism was reported.

“The cameras are put there to help protect people’s lives.”

A Cumbria police spokesman said: “Safety Cameras are put in areas strategically, to help keep the public safe. Damaging them is not only dangerous, but will unfortunately costs both time and money to fix.

“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to report it to Cumbria police. via www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit quoting log number 30 of the 25th December.”
