Youths have been blamed for a ‘mess’ of alcohol containers and litter which was found left in Millerground on Saturday (May 29).
South Lakes Police shared images online of stacked up rubbish and litter outside Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre.
Outside the Better venue, on the eastern shore of Windermere, was reportedly the site for what police termed ‘inconsiderate’ members of the public to gather.
They expressed concern over the mess and litter which they were called to clear up and, which they pointed out, could have resulted in a fine.
Labelling the incident as ‘anti-social behaviour’, officers will continue on patrols of this nature, they added.
South Lakes Police tweeted shortly after 11.30pm: 2666 – Officers have been to clean up after inconsiderate group of youths at #Millerground. There is no excuse to leave a mess such as this and littering can result in a fine. Patrols will continue to visit and will deal with ASB as appropriate! #community#ASB“
